#TGIFC353 Project Challenge

This #TGIFC353 challenge this week was new territory for me!  I have never heard of a "loaded envelope" before, but after a little research I was totally up for making one!

#TGIFC352 Inspiration Challenge

For the #TGIFC352 inspiration challenge this week I went pretty literal, keeping the same colour palette (Fresh Freesia in my case) and the heart shape from the sketch...and even the ink-spot background!

TGIF Challenge: Closure Card

For the TGIF Challenge #349 this week we were to make a card with a unique closure, which means--fun fold time!!  Fun folds are a favourite of mine and I love to find new ways to make a card even more special.

Gift Card Wallet #TGIFC347

The #TGIF challenge this week is a project challenge to create a gift card holder.  I have just finished purchasing a bunch of gift cards for teenager gifts next week and this challenge made me think of a great way to make them have a bit more impact--a gift card wallet!

#TGIFC339 Alcohol Blending Technique Challenge

I was so thrilled to be named the winner of last week's #TGIFC338 challenge!  This weekly challenge is really helping me stretch my creativity wings.  And this week's challenge is no exception!  I really enjoyed making alcohol ink cards this past summer, but I haven't made one in a few months now.  This was just the nudge I needed to bring this technique back into my life. :)

Halloween Inspiration Challenge (#TGIFC338)

I thought I wouldn't be able to play along with the #TGIFC338 challenge this week, as I don't have any Halloween stamps!  But necessity is the mother of invention, right?  So I pulled together a few things from my craft supply and made a Halloween-inspired card!

Blackberry Bliss Ombre Colour Challenge (TGIFC#336)

I'm back with another #TGIFC challenge card today.  This week was a colour challenge using a combination that I have never used before:  Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss and Black.  I substituted Basic White for the Very Vanilla, as I didn't have any (!) and decided to create my own black/white DSP background with an ombre technique to make the Blackberry Bliss really shine!

Fall Inspiration (TGIFC#335)

Fall is my favourite season--the colours are beautiful, the days are cooler, and the nights are crisp.  I wish it lasted longer!  So the #TGIFC335 challenge of Fall and Pumpkins was right up my alley this week.  I also just received a new order of products, so I was itching to try out some new things!

Happy New Year Sale-A-Bration Card (#TGIFC334)

I'm playing along with the TGIF Challenge again today and using one of my favourite Sale-A-Bration* products on my card.  It's a tight race between the Penguin Place DSP and the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper, but you just can't beat the sparkle of that Be Dazzling paper!  I totally went outside my comfort zone and made this modern-style/minimalistic looking card to celebrate the New Year.  This paper is for so much more than Christmas!

Penguin Place Colour Challenge (#TGIFC328)

You may have noticed a lot of penguin cards lately....I just can't help myself!  This little guy is super cute and makes great birthday cards in addition to fun Christmas cards.  The #TGIFC328 challenge this week was the perfect jumping off point for this Coastal Cabana, Black & White birthday card:

Summer Celebration (TGIF Challenges #TGFIC325)

Ah these long summer days....can't get enough of them.  So this week's TGIF Challenge was a perfect way to commemorate summer before it's over.  And with COVID restrictions finally easing this weekend, we are on our way to celebrating with friends and family again soon!  

Making A Difference (TIGF Challenge)

I'm playing along with the TGIF Challenge (#TGIFC315) again this week, and it's a colour challenge!  I just received my new catalogue products this past weekend so it was a great chance to mix the old and the new for something super fun!

TGIF C302 Red & Pink Colour Challenge

The TGIF challenge this week was to use the colour combination of Smoky Slate, Petal Pink, and Red Red in an homage to Valentine's Day. 

 I am not a mushy Valentine's girl!  So instead I made a card that shares the love in a fun way.

This could just as easily be a thank you card or a birthday card, rather than specifically something for Valentine's Day.  

I used Real Red and Petal Pink to make my ice cream scoops using the Sweet Ice Cream set, punched them out with the Ice Cream Cone Builder punch, and mounted them on a Smokey Slate cone.  I also embossed the background panel with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder, which I think looks like the texture on a waffle cone!

I stamped my sentiment, from the same set, in Real Red on white cardstock and die cut it and a larger Smoky Slate label with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

I added a piece of Real Red ribbon sheer ribbon left over from my Christmas crafting, and tied a fun double-bow to add some dimension.  A few rhinestones for shine and complete!

I kept the inside of my card Valentine's-neutral too, with a great sentiment that says "the good things in life are better with you" and another punched ice cream cone.  

I think Valentine's Day can be about so much more than just celebrating your romantic relationship, there are so many other people in your life to celebrate the love with too!  And this card could be sent to any of them.  :)

#TGIFC301 Mad for Plaid

I'm playing along with the TGIF Challenge again this week, where we have been asked to create cards that are "mad for plaid."  I don't why but I am in a spring/summer mood these days, and the bright citrusy colours in the new (available to demonstrators only right now) DSP packs fit the bill!

We have been on lock down or social isolation for almost a year now, and I can't wait to gather my girls for a cocktail night when it is safe to do so!  

For my card I used two sheets of plaid DSP, one in Mango Melody, and one in Melon Mambo, which totally evoke dreams of summery cocktails.  

I coloured and die cut three frosty drinks, complete with lime wedges and pink umbrellas!  And I added shimmery crystal effects to each of the glasses--they look so realistic in person!  I added some clear sequins to add to the shimmery-ness as well.

I also added some ink to white cardstock in an ombre effect with my new blending brushes.  Doesn't it resemble a summer sunset?!  And I finished it off with a fluffy white twine bow.

I left the inside of my card blank so I can add all the details of our meet-up when the time comes, and added one more drink (because you can't have enough at this point!).  For the inside glass I added the crystal effects to just the ice cubes, which adds a whole other dimension to the glass.

Colour Challenge (TGIFC215)

Hi all, I'm participating in my first ever TGIF colour challenge this week!  I enjoy having my creativity stretched to new places, and I'm hoping this will continue to help me expand my horizons.  :)

This week's challenge was to create a project using Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy, and Pool Party.  I decided to use some bright green DSP as my background, and added some blue elephants in the coordinating colours, for this baby card.  Who says baby stuff has to be pastel?!

I think this is so fun!  Both elephants come from the Little Elephant stamp set and were punched with the coordinating Elephant Builder punch.  The sentiment is from the some set but is meant to be stacked on top of each other in more of a square shape.  A quick snip with the scissors and I made one stamp into two, allowing me to place them side-by-side instead, and ink them in two different colours.

The little corner cutaway was made with a circle die--they are a great tool to have on hand because they come in a variety of sizes, so you always have the perfect one on hand!  I also used the stitched scallop border die from the Stitched Be Mine dies to make that pretty edging on the polka dot panel.

The scalloped rectangle is popped off the card base with dimensionals, and the elephants are popped up too, lending great dimension to this card.

I finished it off with a white twine bow and some candy dots in Pool Party.
