Stampin' Friends All About The Paper Blog Hop

It's the Stampin' Friends All About The Paper Blog Hop today and is there any better way to show off our gorgeous DSP than a One Sheet Wonder?!  I made 11 cards from one piece of the Storybook Gnomes DSP, and a box to keep them all organized!

Today's hop is going to be epic!  We all love pretty paper, and these projects are sure to inspire you.

My 11 cards--yes, 11!!--were made from one piece of 12" x 12" Storybook Gnomes DSP.  This paper is so colourful and fun, but you could substitute the template for your favourite paper and make a whole set of cards too!

If you aren't familiar with a One Sheet Wonder (OSW) it's a template that helps you cut your paper in an incredibly efficient way to maximize your usage.  I created this template for a 12" x 12" piece of DSP:

Start by cutting the DSP into 4" strips, and then cut each strip to the measurements on the template.  The two red strips (0.75" x 4") can be used to decorate the inside of two cards. :)

I kept my cards similar by using all Thick Basic White Cardstock bases, Basic White Cardstock panels embossed with the snowflake Wintry 3D Embossing Folder, and bits of Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana Cardstock for contrast.  But you could make each card even more individual by using different colours for your bases.

And in the spirit of highlighting DSP, all of my decorations are fussy cut or die cut from another piece of the Storybook Gnomes DSP!

Here are pictures of how I took my cut template pieces and transformed them into cards:

Whew, that's a lot of cuteness!!

The box I made to store my card set is quite simple, with open sides and a decorated belly band.  The box is created with two pieces of Basic White Cardstock, 4.75" x 10" (scored at 0.75", 2",7.25, and 8.75") and 4.75" x 5.5".  The smaller piece I embossed with the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder and then glued to the 0.75" flap on the larger piece.

Then you add a piece to the bottom to help keep the cards neat and tidy, and create the base.  I cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock to 7.25" x 3.75" and scored on all four sides at 0.75".  Cut away the corners and fold into an open-top box. Glue this to the bottom flap of the first piece.  Add a belly band, and you're done!

Who wouldn't want this sweet card set for a gift this year?  Nothing beats handmade!

I'd love to know which card is your favourite, or your thoughts on my project, so please leave a comment below--it makes my day!  And be sure to hop on to see all the other inspiring projects this month, you won't be disappointed.

Happy Crafting,
Barb
