Stamping Symphony Fun Folds Blog Hop
How is it possibly the middle of August already?! The summer is flying by and but since it has been a hot and sticky one I've been enjoying the AC in my craft studio this week making holiday cards. I love to use fun folds in my projects, and created this Gnome card for you today:

Stamping Symphony Last Chance Blog Hop
It's a bittersweet time of year again, as we say farewell to some fantastic items retiring this month to make way for the new annual catalogue (please let me know if you need a copy!). The "last chance" list is dwindling fast, so if there are must-haves still on your list you will need to act fast to be sure you don't miss out! I am featuring the oh-so-pretty Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP on my project today. As of writing it is still available to purchase from my online store, and it is such a great collection of patterns for your stash. I adore fussy cutting out the plants and couldn't resist this adorable pop-out fun fold!

#TGIFC357 Technique Challenge: Blending Brushes
The #TGIFC challenge this week was to incorporate blending brushes in our projects. My favourite thing to do with my brushes is create a cloudy background, so I went straight for a fun fold card with a sky!

TGIF Challenge: Closure Card
For the TGIF Challenge #349 this week we were to make a card with a unique closure, which means--fun fold time!! Fun folds are a favourite of mine and I love to find new ways to make a card even more special.

You Make The Day Brighter Fun Fold

Flowering Cactus Triple Cube Card
I made my first Triple Cube Card this week for my #wowwednesday feature--and it is much easier to create than you might think!
I followed this tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers for the bones of my card base, and then added some extra popups on each of the layers for even more dimension.
This was super easy because I again used the coordinating dies from the Flowering Cactus Medley to cut the images from a piece of the patterned DSP--I love that something this intriguing can actually come together very quickly!

Wow Wednesday Thank You Fun Fold
Every Wednesday on social media I post a "wow" project, and this one sure fits the bill!
Have you ever bought an entire pack of paper because you fell in love with one design? That's this paper for me (although I ended up liking most of the other designs too!). The paper on the left, with those beautiful green berries, is my absolute favourite out of the pack.
I created my card base with a piece of thick vanilla cardstock cut to 4.25" x 11", and scored at 2.75" and 5.5". You fold the scores into one mountain and one valley fold, and voila--a z-fold card is born!
I covered the two smaller panels with DSP (including the watercolour stripes paper which is my 2nd favourite from the pack), and left half of the back panel uncovered so that a personal message can be written there.
The front sentiment is all about the layers! I started with a stitched scallop rectangle in vanilla cardstock, and then cut two additional stitched scallop rectangles out of Soft Sea Foam and Pretty Peacock. I'll be so sad when the Peacock paper and ink retires later this year, it is such a beautiful colour and I haven't used it nearly enough.
It's hard to see in the pictures but I embossed the sea foam rectangle with one of the Greenery Embossing folders...in real life it adds a nice little bit of texture to the sentiment.
What really puts this card over-the-top is the gorgeous Forever Gold Metallic paper die cuts I layered behind the green scalloped rectangles. They are so shiny it's a challenge to get a picture without your reflection showing up! And the delicate details just add so much elegance to the card.
The hand written "thank you" stamp is from the Heal Your Heart set, which I am featuring all week. This set is free with the current Salebration promotion, you can check it out on my store any time.
And to top it off I added several rhinestones leftover in my stash from Christmas. There are some new Gilded Gems that would look great here too!
Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope you are inspired to create a wow card of your own today!

Global Design Project Colour Challenge
I am really enjoying trying my hand at challenge sites this year! My goal for 2021 was to create and post more often and I'm finding these weekly and monthly challenges to be a great source of inspiration and purpose.
My card tonight is for entry in the Global Design Project colour challenge #GDP277, where we were challenged to create a project using Rococo Rose, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand.
I used the same fun fold I showcased during this afternoon's Surprise Saturday event. (This is a free virtual event where I host some crafty fun time and everyone makes a mystery card with the supplies they have at home. If you haven't joined us yet, I hope you will, everyone is welcome!).
I started with a 4.25" x 5.5" white cardstock panel and added a layer of Blushing Bride and then a layer of DSP from the In Good Taste paper pack. You get SO MANY sheets of amazing papers in this pack!
For the fun fold portion of the card I took a 3.25" x 8.5" piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and folded it in half, and then attached it to the centre of my card front. I then stamped some beautiful artsy flowers form the Art Gallery stamp set on a piece of white cardstock. This two-step-stamping set makes gorgeous flowers super easy, and because of the artsy style you don't even have to line up the stamps perfectly! I used Blushing Bride for the base flower, and Rococo Rose for the deeper petals, with Sahara Sand for the subtle centres.
I added a piece of Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen ribbon to a strip of Sahara Sand cardstock and layered that across the front of my fun fold.
I then heat embossed "hello friend" in white on a stitched Sahara Sand circle, and added it to a scalloped circle of Blushing Bride. That was popped up on dimensionals and then added on to the ribbon strip.
I added a few rhinestones as a sparkling finishing touch to both the circle and the stamped panel.
For the inside of my card I stamped one more flower in Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose and left lots of room to write a personal sentiment to the recipient.
Thank you for checking out my submission, I hope you'll consider joining a challenge and stretching your creative muscles too!
