I am really enjoying trying my hand at challenge sites this year! My goal for 2021 was to create and post more often and I'm finding these weekly and monthly challenges to be a great source of inspiration and purpose.
My card tonight is for entry in the Global Design Project colour challenge #GDP277, where we were challenged to create a project using Rococo Rose, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand.
I used the same fun fold I showcased during this afternoon's Surprise Saturday event. (This is a free virtual event where I host some crafty fun time and everyone makes a mystery card with the supplies they have at home. If you haven't joined us yet, I hope you will, everyone is welcome!).
I started with a 4.25" x 5.5" white cardstock panel and added a layer of Blushing Bride and then a layer of DSP from the In Good Taste paper pack. You get SO MANY sheets of amazing papers in this pack!
For the fun fold portion of the card I took a 3.25" x 8.5" piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and folded it in half, and then attached it to the centre of my card front. I then stamped some beautiful artsy flowers form the Art Gallery stamp set on a piece of white cardstock. This two-step-stamping set makes gorgeous flowers super easy, and because of the artsy style you don't even have to line up the stamps perfectly! I used Blushing Bride for the base flower, and Rococo Rose for the deeper petals, with Sahara Sand for the subtle centres.
I added a piece of Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen ribbon to a strip of Sahara Sand cardstock and layered that across the front of my fun fold.
I then heat embossed "hello friend" in white on a stitched Sahara Sand circle, and added it to a scalloped circle of Blushing Bride. That was popped up on dimensionals and then added on to the ribbon strip.
I added a few rhinestones as a sparkling finishing touch to both the circle and the stamped panel.
For the inside of my card I stamped one more flower in Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose and left lots of room to write a personal sentiment to the recipient.
Thank you for checking out my submission, I hope you'll consider joining a challenge and stretching your creative muscles too!
