Pierced Blooms Birthday

 I. Adore. The. Pierced Blooms Dies.  There's no other way to say it!!  The delicate stitching adds so much to the beautiful shapes, and with a whopping 25 dies included, it is so fast and easy to create multitudes of flowers in one fell swoop.

My window card today is a fancy fold that showcases the layers of flowers you can create so easily with these dies.

I started with a Petal Pink top-folding card base (4.25 x 11" scored and folded at 5.5"), and cut a stitched rectangle out of the very center of the base.  From white cardstock I double-cut two more stitched rectangles, stacked together, to make a stitched frame that left about 1/2" between the edge of the frame, and the edge of the window.

Before gluing the white stitched frame to the card base I wrapped some variegated twine around the frame and tied it in a double bow.

Then it was all about creating some cascading flowers!  I cut a bunch of flowers in different shapes and sizes from white cardstock in one pass through my big shot.  I also cut leaves from both Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  I layered the leaves and flowers into the bottom left corner of my cardbase, and added flower centres of Petal Pink or Sahara Sand.

The inside of this card is where the surprise lies!  I took a piece of white cardstock 4" x 10.5", folded it in half and glued it to my card base so that it opens top-down.  This gives me an entire hidden panel on the inside of my card for a personalized message that isn't visible through the window.

I carefully placed more die cuts in a bunch on the inside of the card so that they are partially visible through the window.  This really adds to the visual when you see the card closed, as it looks like layers-upon-layers of flowers.

I love these dies so much that I actually have enough projects to share for two weeks!  So you'll be seeing lots more cards featuring these dies on my Instagram and Facebook pages in the days to come.  Most of these projects were created for my Virtual Spring Retreat, so I have lots to share!

Happy Crafting,

Barb
