Stampin' Friends Perfectly Punched Blog Hop

It's time for another Stampin' Friends Blog Hop and this month's theme is Perfectly Punched.  This was a tough one for me since I don't really use punches....I'm a die girl through and through.  That being said, you can never go wrong with a circle punch, and I just happened to have the 1-3/4" punch in my studio, and used it to create this fun and festive birthday card for my Dad:

Welcome to the blog hop, and thanks for joining me.  I am always inspired by the creations made by the group each month, and hope you are too!

Masculine cards are always tough, but I thought the circles of various brightly hued patterned papers created a fun result.  To start, I used a card base of Pebbled Path Cardstock cut to 4.25" x 11", scored at 5.5".  I also cut a panel from the same colour to 4" x 5.25", and this is the piece that I adhered my circles to.

As mentioned, I used the 1-3/4" Circle Punch to create my design, along with the Bright & Beautiful DSP paper pack.  Turns out this design was a perfect use for those scraps of leftover paper!  I punched the circles from various papers in the pack, and I popped some of the circles up on Dimensionals to add some depth to my design.  The remainder of the circles are glued directly onto the panel, and then I trimmed the edges to square off the design.

My sentiment shape is from the All That Dies, and I stamped a two-tone message in Pebbled Path Ink and Blueberry Bushel Ink.  The "happy" is from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set, and the "birthday" is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, and is stamped on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock that I trimmed closely.

For the final touches I splattered some Basic Black Stampin' Blends across the panel, and then I added some Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots as well.

I hope my project inspires you to dig out some punches and see what you can make today!  Be sure to keep on hopping to see what everyone else has for you as well:

Happy Crafting,
Barb

  3. Nice card, I never think to repeat punched pieces fur the background. It would be a good way to use up scraps.
