Stampin' Friends Thankful For You Blog Hop

It was nice to take a break from Christmas crafting this week and shift my focus to showing thanks as I created my projects for the Stampin' Friends Thankful For You Blog Hop today.  I am excited to share my fun-fold gift card holder and matching 2-4-6-8 box with you.

Thanks for joining me and our team of hoppers today, we're so glad to have you!  If you came from Teri's blog, welcome. A list of all of the hoppers can be found at the end of my post so you don't get lost along the way. :)

My card features the beautiful black-and-white designs from the Perfectly Penciled DSP pack.  I love the versatility of this paper, and the option to add just the right colour to match my project.  In this case, I coloured the pretty florals with my Petal Pink and Mint Macaron Blends for an elegant, upscale look.

Basic Black Cardstock forms the base of the fun fold; cut a piece 8.5" x 4.25" and score at 5.5".  The second card base is formed from a piece of 3" x 8" Smoky Slate Cardstock scored at 4".  I decorated each side of the card bases with different patterns from the Perfectly Penciled DSP pack, and created a pocket on the right-side flip out to hold a gift card.

I didn't want to detract from that pretty paper on my card front, so I kept the embellishments quite simple.  I die cut a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies out of Basic White Cardstock and then embossed it with the Gingham Embossing Folder.  I stamped my sentiment, from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink and then die cut it with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes Dies.  I added some White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon, tied in a bow, and some Polished Dots in Petal Pink for some subtle shine.

Isn't this tiny matching gift bag adorable?!  The perfect size for a small candy treat, it is so, so simple to create.

Start with a piece of cardstock that measures 5.5" x 8.5" and score at 2" on the short side, and 2", 4", 6" and 8" on the long side.  Cut the shorter score lines to create flaps, which then glue on top of each other to form the base of the bag.  Before assembling I added another piece of coloured Perfectly Penciled DSP

I created a small tag with the Tailor Made Tags Dies and then embossed it with the Gingham Embossing Folder.  I coloured a few of the small flowers from a different pattern in the DSP pack, and fussy cut them to add to my tag.  I stamped a different sentiment from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set and die cut it with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes Die, then popped it up on Dimensionals before adding to my prepared tag.

I added some interest to the gift bag by tying Black and White Gingham Ribbon around the top as the closure, and threaded it through the hole in my tag.  This ribbon is perfect so many different styles!

I would love to hear from you before you hop along to see whatever else has for you today.  If you liked my projects or have any questions please drop me a note below!

Happy Crafting,
Barb
