As I impatiently wait for the new catalogue to launch on Tuesday (!!!) I am playing with some carry-over products today. This flower bunch from the Art Gallery stamp set is one of my favourites, especially when die cut with the coordinating dies.
I started with a simple Thick White card base (4.25" x 11", scored at 5.5"), which I dry embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. I added a 1.5" strip of Flirty Flamingo DSP and a 1/2" strip of Melon Mambo cardstock to complete my card base.
I coloured the stamp with Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green markers for extra detail, and then I added the two-step shading with Melon Mambo ink. I stamped and die cut three different bunches of flowers, so I could layer them for some added dimension.
I have been practicing my ink splatters all weekend and love how this turned out! I flicked the brush end of my Basic Black marker against the lid to get this great splash of black splatter in the corner.
I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set in Memento Black ink on a small piece of white cardstock and adhered it to my flower bunch. I also added several clear Elegant Faceted Gems around the flowers for some shine.
I added one more coloured, stamped and die cut floral image to the inside of my card, with some more splatter. ;) I also stamped my favourite birthday greeting, from the Flowering Cactus set. I love the mix of the two fonts.
I have also been having a lot of fun this weekend making matching decorative envelopes for my cards from DSP. I pulled out some long-retired paper to make an envelope for this card that is sure to add an extra jolt of excitement to the recipient's mail collection!
Happy Crafting,
Barb
