All this week I am going to be sharing projects made with the Flowering Cactus Medley of products. What is a medley? It's everything you need to make a ton of projects! Stamp set, dies, papers, twines and embellishments all coordinated but with the ability to create whatever your imagination sees.
I adore the sentiments that are included in the stamp set, particularly "life can get kind of prickly"--I'm all about a good pun! So I decided to build my card today around that sentiment.
The medley comes with a whopping 48 sheets of 6x6 paper, so you never have to worry about not having enough of your favourite design! I used a 4" x 5.5" strip of my favourite pattern and centred it on my Purple Posy card base.
I cut a piece of white cardstock 2.75" x 4" and used one of the unique dies from the set to create a die cut border on the top and bottom, for a little extra texture.
I stamped and die cut several different cacti and succulent images from the die set in a variety of colours (Pretty Peacock, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Garden Green, Highland Heather (stamped off one) and Calypso Coral), and layered them to create my focal point. Several of the die cuts were adhered with dimensionals to provide depth to the card.
I added another stamped cactus on the inside of my card, in Pear Pizzazz, along with the "I'm always here for you" sentiment in Garden Green.
This medley is as all-inclusive as you can get, and includes some of my favourite colours as well as amazing stitched felt embellishments--you'll see them later this week! And you can die cut the cactuses from one of the patterns of DSP for super fast cardmaking!
There is so much to see in this medley, so keep an eye on my Instagram and Facebook pages all week for more project ideas!
Have a great week,
Barb
