All I could see when I looked at the new Darling Donkeys Saleabration set was a sweet baby card, with an Eeyore lookalike. He is just too cute! I'll be showing all kinds of cards featuring this donkey and his two friends this week, but I started with my favourite (which was hard to pick!): this slimline, gender-neutral card with matching envelope.
Aren't they just the sweetest things! I don't have any babies expected in my life these days, but I'll have lots of cards on hand for future babes thanks to this set.
I used some beautiful So Saffron DSP that I had in retired stash, and used my (also retired) Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope from the same paper. I added a small stitched scalloped rectangle to the front of the envelope for addressing.
I stamped each of the donkeys in Gray Granite on white cardstock, and coloured them with my Blends. I added some pink to the inside of their ears and blush on their cheeks, for some added sweetness. I then die cut each with a stitched square die, and mounted each one on a stitched scalloped square cut from the DSP and white cardstock, in increasing sizes.
I added a few gold sparkle gems to each donkey for some always-necessary bling. ;) I also added a pretty soft ribbon bow to the top square for some added interest.
For the inside of the card I kept it simple, with one more blended donkey in the bottom corner, and lots of room to write special welcome wishes to the new baby and mom. I mounted the white cardstock to a another piece of the DSP as well.
Did you notice he's facing left, while on the card front he's facing right? I used the mirror technique to mix it up! I also added some grass in Soft Sea Foam under the donkey to ground him.
I can't wait to share the rest of my projects with you this week! He's such a cutie!
