Creation Station Rainbow Rearrange Blog Hop

The theme for the Creation Station Blog Hop this month--Rainbow Rearrange--threw me for a bit of a loop!  But after thinking a little while I thought of the perfect card design:

I thought having the grey-scale rainbow with the colourful sky was a clever rearrangement of a regular rainbow!  To create my rainbow background I used the alcohol technique....I added ink to a piece of vellum paper using my Blends in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Old Navy and Rich Razzleberry.  Then I added drops of Isopropyl Alcohol onto the scribbled ink and blew it around until it blended into a pretty rainbow of colour.

My card base is made from Thick Basic White cardstock (5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25") and I adhered my vellum background to the front with Tear & Tape adhesive.  I used the Brilliant Rainbow Dies to cut my rainbow from Basic White, Grey Granite, Smoky Slate, and Basic Grey cardstock, giving the perfect grey-scale look.

For the final touch I die cut two Basic White cloud borders from the Basic Borders die set at two different widths, and adhered them at the top and bottom of the card front.  Isn't the stitched edging on the clouds just so pretty?!  Love it!

The sentiment is a simple phrase from the coordinating Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and was stamped in Black Memento ink.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Please leave me a comment before you head over to Julie's blog to see her project. :)

Happy Crafting,

Barb
