Stamping Symphony Spring Blog Hop

Are you feeling Spring yet?  If not, our blog hop today is going to totally get you there.  We are sharing Spring projects on the Stamping Symphony blog hop this month and it's got me in the mood for cherry blossoms and butterflies!

Aren't those blossoms just too pretty?!  I used such an easy technique to get the variation in colour.  I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and blended spots of colour in Polished Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride randomly on the paper.  Then I die cut the leaves using the Inspiring Canopy dies, which provided a variety of colour on each little piece.

I broke out my blue Blending Brush and Pool Party ink to make my cloudy sky background with a mask from the Basic Borders dies.  So soft and pretty.

The tree trunks are cut from the Inspiring Canopy Dies using Crumb Cake cardstock and I lightly blended some Crumb Cake Ink to provide shading.  The pretty "grass" is cut from the Subtles 6x6 DSP plaid design, again using the Inspiring Canopy dies.  I blended some Granny Apple Green ink on the top edge to define the pieces.  One piece is glued flat to the Thick Basic White card base, and the other piece and the trees are popped up on dimensionals for depth to the scene.

The final touch was a stitched flag die cut, from the Tasteful Labels Dies, which I cut from the leftover piece of blended paper I used for the tree tops.  The sentiment comes from the Flowing Flowers stamp set and was stamped in Black Memento ink.

Did you notice the Brushed Metallic Butterflies?!  There are three hidden in the card and they add just the right amount of shine and Spring to complete this project.

I recreated a smaller version of the scene on the inside of my card, with more blended clouds, a grassy knoll, and a partial tree.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you'll leave a comment before hopping on to ....

Happy Crafting
