Stampin' Friends All About Flowers Blog Hop

Spring is hovering around the edges these days and while we wait impatiently we're sharing projects that are "All About Flowers" today on the Stampin' Friends Blog Hop.  My card has a riot of flowers in returning colours Fresh Freesia (SO EXCITED that this colour isn't retiring!) and Lemon Lime Twist.

Perfect for a mother's day card, this card also features clear embossed leaves for some shine in the background!  My card base is a piece of Basic Grey Cardstock (4.25" x 11", scored at 5.5").  I randomly stamped the leaf image from the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and then heat embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder.

My flowers are stamped in Fresh Freesia Ink for that beautiful pop of purple!  The Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set is a two-step set, which means that you layer stamps together to create detailed images.  I stamped off once for the bottom image, and then stamped in full strength for the shadow image.  Gorgeous!

I am so happy to have Lemon Lime Twist back in my craft room.  When this colour first came out as as In Colour several years ago I thought I would never use it--but it quickly became a favourite!  I love how the bright green is so vibrant, especially with the dark background behind it.

My sentiment is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and is from the Heavenly Hollyhocks Stamp Set and is the perfect match for this card.  And I can't forget about all that sparkle from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels!   I went a little crazy, but I love the final look.

Keep the fun and floral inspiration going by hopping along the carousel to see what everyone else has for you this month.  I would love you to leave me a comment before you go though!

Happy Crafting,
Barb
